Stjenefesten den 7 Juli

Det er i Kokubunji station.

The star festival is seen in various parts of the country.
It celebrates the meeting of Orihime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altair).
According to legend, the Milky Way, a river made from stars that crosses the sky, separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar. (but today it is generally observed on the same date by the modern calendar.)
The celebration is held at night.

We usally write our wish on oblong cards, and hung up on those banboo trees.
Maybe, we shold buy small bamboo tree and hung up many wishing list!

  1. That sounds like a very romantic tradition. Not like us in Denmark - burning witches on the stake....
