Omiyamairi - lørdag den 2. april

Danish team went to a Japanese garden in Tennoji park in the morning.

We went to Sumiyoshi-shrine for Omiyamairi by train.

I like Sumiyoshi-shrine a lot because I also went to there for ceremony when I was small and have good memories.

Omiyamairi literally means"a visit to a shrine.Omiyamairi is a Shinto ritual similar to the Christian baptism ceremony. It occurs when the baby is about one month old. Baby wear a special kimono draped over baby. As the baby's grandparents hold him/her, the priest presents the news of the birth to the guardian spirit of the shrine, and offers thanks. He then asks the spirit to protect the baby and keep him/her healthy.

We are putting Himo-sen (string-money) and some decoration goods to Kimono.

This is to pray baby's health and long life without being poor. The number of envelops for Himo-sen should be many because it means many people are blessing the baby.

It doesn't mean Meiko is collecting money for herself :p

Hinata and Mizuho (my brother's wife) visited us and had dinner together.

Hinata likes danish family a lot!

We celebrated Hans's 59 years old birthday!
